Training and Placement Department of Y.I.T plays an active role in providing career services for its students. The vital role of T&P Cell is to groom & shape the students and make them industry. Every student pursuing a professional career in engineering has an ambition to obtain a challenging job in a company of repute and make a successful career. Various training sessions for students by eminent trainers from the industry are conducted and also workshops and seminar are held to enhance their skills.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell aims to foster and nurture talented young minds with a vision and aims at fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship and Innovation in the college. It provides a platform for budding entrepreneurs to hone their skills and build sustainable relationships with their mentors in order to facilitate successful transitions towards launching their own ventures. EDC organises various activities such Business Plan Competitions, Quiz etc. which focus on bringing out the entrepreneurial attributes of a person. Members of the cell are encouraged to start up their own ventures and are provided support for the same. EDC also aims to develop management and leadership skills so that they can one day become capable enough to start their own ventures which will provide them creativity, freedom and ability to generate wealth.
With a view to expose students to entrepreneurship as an alternative career, Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs) are conducted in YIT under the aegis of National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of science and technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Each Camp is of 3 days duration and aims at creating awareness among students about various facets of entrepreneurship while highlighting the merits of pursuing such a career option. In each EAC, about 60 students are exposed to different aspects of entrepreneurship, including opportunity guidance, services offered by agencies of support system etc. A visit to the industries located in the region is also arranged to bring the students in direct touch with practising entrepreneurs. EAC helps to students who are really interested in taking up entrepreneurship as a career option.
YIT has set up Centre for Professional Skill Development and Training and Centre for Advanced Computing which conducts various Soft skill and Technical training programmes to ensure the employability of students. Further, the departments conduct various programmes which bring courses of Industry relevance to students.

Keeping this belief at the core of the education system, the college provides for a strong foundation for the all-round development of the students. To make our students corporate ready, the first year curriculum focuses on laying a foundation on the English Language Skills. During the Third year, the training focuses on Self-Management and People Skills, which includes training on Personality Development, Presentation Skills, Goal Setting, Confidence Building, Conflict Management, Inter-Personal Skills, Negotiation Skills, Team Building, Aptitude and Decision Making.The objective is to improve their interpersonal skills, increase the placement rate and enhance the retention rates in companies. YIT aims at “transformation from inside out”. Final year students are trained on Interview Skills, Group Discussions, Business Etiquettes and Work ethics. Our aim is to prepare them such that they can touch, move and inspire people in the real world.
The current trend in IT industries is to recruit pre-trained candidates for their requirements. YIT has set up Centre for Advanced Computing to create a learning and development ecosystem by exposing students to modern computing technologies to solve real-time problems. It offers an experiential training system aided with comprehensive technology-based models. It also offers internship opportunities to prospective software developers and prepares trained manpower for IT sector.
The different learning and training modules on various technologies like Data Science and Big Data Analytics. Machine learning using Python, Web Designing and Scripting (using JavaScript and DHTML), PHP with MySQL etc. will help to nurture our students in a particular domain or skill set and offer well-suited personnel to the industry. Real-time problem statements or products are offered to trainees during the internship, which will be solved by our trainees. Students can take advantage of current and future technological innovations and develop skills through hands-on experience in Computer Science. The centre collaborates with major IT companies, where we will expose the interns to Industry culture and make them confident in a particular domain or skill set.
The college offers wide Range of Completing School Initiative Programs by initiating MOUs and academic association with Professional organizations for organizing different activities, internships and placement opportunities for overall improvement and benefit of the students. This includes added professional certification to graduates along with their bachelor degree.
ImpelsysTraining and Development Centre is a joint undertaking by Yenepoya Institute of Technology andImpelsysInc. devised to offer state of the art experiential education for students of our Institute. Impelsys Internship program is an intensive mentorship program where students get to work on cutting-edge technologies that will redefine the future of education, while students are still studying. Some of the students get the opportunity to become full-fledged employees of Impelsys on completion of Engineering degree

The training helps the upcoming technical professionals to be skilled in today’s technology adapted by Industries & help them to get hands on experience with visual knowledge on method of Production, Processing & Service Engineering and thus helps upcoming Engineers to meet the demands of global industries
ATSLS is a Microsoft AEP, ORACLE WDP Partner and Certiport ( Pearson group) Authorized Testing partner and associated with aspect for providing contract staffing and payroll solutions.
They train our students on various technologies like Cyber & Mobile Security, Cross Platform Mobile App Development Python , IOT and Robotics with Raspberry Pi which will help them get Microsoft Certification ( Microsoft Technology Associate)

Spectra Advanced engineering and MEP provide high end training for Engineering graduates at YIT in the field of MEP Engineering - the most promising field in the Construction industry. They offer a professional career after Engineering in the growing construction industry. They help moulding our students to 'Industry Ready Engineers' with professional MEP skills. Students acquire High end hands-on skills on latest Design and MEP tools. Spectra also offer Internship programs as per VTU norms and project training for our students.
Lohatec is one the leading manufacturer of quality machine components and precision parts. They offer internship program to our Mechanical Engineering students on Autodesk Fusion 360, 3D printing and Laser Cutting. They also provide industrial training related to Manufacturing, Production, QA and QC.
On an average 80% of eligible students are placed this year in companies like Infosys, Pathfront Consulting, Impelsys, Fablesquare, Silver Peak Global, Aradhya Group, Sunquest, HGS, Diya Systems etc.
The Training & Placement Cell has set up all the required facilities for the conduction of the recruitment process such as seminar hall for company presentations, group discussion rooms and conferencing facilities, interview and Discussion rooms. We are actively involved in conducting Pool campus drives that include the reputed Engineering colleges of the Mangalore region. The advantage of the combined placement pool is more job opportunities for students with more choice of companies as top companies prefer combined campus recruitment as more number of students are available at one place.
The In house campus training refines skills set to meet the industrial demands by connecting the academic knowledge with the skills required to work in the industry. The In house campus training program helps to bridge the skill gap between the needs of the industry and the academia production.
